This is strange for me. I have been so immersed in baseball for the past three months, what with this site and the podcast, that baseball Opening Day seems sort of anti-climatic to me.

Wow.

How weird.

I am excited, sure... but it just doesn't feel like baseball has started. It started three months ago for me. Arguably, it never ended... I was entering statistics for playertrack in October.

It might also be that it is raining here in Los Angeles, and I suspect that the Dodger game is going to be rained out.

I'm so happy to finally see the Tiger line-up, and happier to see a win. That was encouraging - - strong pitching and the longball. Wow! We could really have a real team at last!! Praise be to Leyland.

I think it's a little early to sing Leyland's praises just yet. However, I agree the sign displayed in the 1st game are very encouraging. Especially the excitment in watching the youngster (Zumaya and Shelton) pitch and hit.
